June 5,

Lecture by Lisa Alley from NC: “Seeing what the Judge Sees”

Have you ever walked through a judged quilt show and wondered why one quilt won a ribbon and another one didn't?  Sometimes, from a viewer's standpoint, the decisions are obvious and sometimes, they make noe sense at all.  During this program, I walk you through what happens on the judging floor for a quilt show and what the judge looks for in a prize winning quilt.  I critique my own work while you watch and hopefully, by the end of the program, help guild members feel more comfortable and encouraged to enter their quilts in your quilt show.

Free for members of FQG and TQP, $5 guest fee

The Silent Auction is a guild fundraiser with proceeds going towards guild programs and special events. The Silent Auction usually takes place every other year at the Jacksonville Center for the Arts during a guild meeting.

Guild members donate items from their sewing rooms or fill the "Homemade Goodies" table with breads, cakes or jam.

Books, notions, half finished projects, fabric and many other miscellaneous items find new homes.

You never know what to find, but one quilters surplus is another ones treasure!
